Kirkbie Kendal School Prospectus

I cannot tell you how much he enjoyed the trip. This was a very significant step forward for him. Parent We have a long and proud tradition of offering an extensive extracurricular programme for all students. They are encouraged to challenge themselves and get involved in the many clubs and activities on offer. The Creative and Performing Arts Department (Dance, Music, Drama and Art) offer a range of lessons, clubs and activities. Performances in all the disciplines are held in school throughout the year. The highlight of the calendar is a Musical Show at the Brewery which usually involves over one hundred of our students. Students of all abilities take part in the wide range of sports clubs on offer from rugby to rounders, cricket to badminton. The inter-form competitions that take place over the year involve most of our students and are hotly contested. Students compete regularly at local, regional and national levels, fully supported by the school. Many of our students are involved in the Duke of Edinburgh’s Award, they raise money for charity, they are part of the environmental group or politics club. Trips and visits are extensive and help to broaden the horizons of our students whether this is a University visit, a trip to Iceland, our Year 7 residential or a languages trip to Spain. There is a lot to enjoy and get involved in. Learning Outside the Classroom 09
