These results were achieved under exam conditions and are even higher than the centre assessed grades of 2020 and 2021. Students have risen to the challenges of the pandemic, have shown great resilience, have worked incredibly hard and have looked after each other. We are delighted with the progress they have made despite the challenges of the last couple of years and we could not be more thrilled for them.
Headteacher Mark Harris said “It has been great to see so many happy faces this morning as students collect their results. These are the best results the school has ever achieved, even better than the centre assessed grades of the previous two years. Students should be proud of what they have achieved. We are delighted with the results which demonstrate the quality of the teaching, pastoral and support staff I have the privilege to work with, and our hugely supportive parents and carers. Well over half of these young people will be joining us back in our outstanding sixth form where nearly half of grades achieved this year were A and A*.”
98% of our students are staying in education with 2% going into employment with training.
Well done to our amazing Year 13.

Mark Harris Headteacher “Well done to all of our Year 13 students who have picked up their grades today. The hard work of our students and their teachers has been rewarded with a fantastic set of results – just under half of the grades were A*/A. It is great to see students moving on to exciting university courses and high level apprenticeships. These students have shown great resilience and have coped brilliantly with the disruption caused by Covid. These students did not get the opportunity to sit their GCSEs and so these were the first set of external exams they have faced and they have performed superbly. The independent learning skills they had to use over lockdown will stand them in good stead in their future education and employment.
It is another year of excellent sixth form results. We are very proud of all our students have achieved and their contributions to our school community. We wish them well and they now become part of our Kirkbie Kendal Alumni.”
